These are my links for November 7th through December 3rd:
- Rob Oakes – Oak-Tree Blog » Creating the Perfect Writing Tool: A Proposal– An excellent, thorough and well thought out proposal for adding outline tools to LyX. The intention being to match the Mac OS X app Scrivener which is well liked for enabling writers to easily (drag-and-drop) re-organise sections of the document, get high-level overviews of the structure and general write in a more organic way.Ample code has been written but it’s not quite ready yet:
https://launchpad.net/lyx-outlineI see LaTeX and LyX in my future and the writing involved would benefit greatly from this!
- Kinect for Robotics – Microsoft Robotics Blog – Site Home – MSDN Blogs – A high level overview of how the kinect works.
- The Research Behind Kinect – Inside Microsoft Research – Site Home – TechNet Blogs – Nice series of articles summarising the work Microsoft Research did on the Kinect project including the AI and Machine Learning techniques behind the player recognition, skeletal tracking and speech recognition.
